Raphaël Decoster's drawings are often narrative, but also approach performance, questioning gesture and time. He oscillates between bitter-sweet scenarios and crude tracings. Nature is often approached through details or spectacular phenomena, interpreted in a free and poetic way. Attracted by detail, he painstakingly draws moving materials such as ́water, lava, hair, feathers, to extract their raw emotions.
