
Plomteux Léopold
1920-2008
Originally from the region of Liège, he attended evening classes at the Institut Saint-Luc and, from 1940, he was enrolled in the higher course of monumental painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Liège, where he benefited from the teaching of Auguste Mambour. In 1950, Léopold Plomteux is co-founder of the Réalité Cobra group. His work is abstract, sometimes geometric, sometimes lyrical. He is recognized as a master of abstract painting by Jo Delahaut himself.
